Dealing With Generalized Anxiety Disorder

Mar-29-2007 By Family Man

So my one son has GAD. I am just a year into this fatherhood thing. Though I wouldn’t say it’s easy to jump into it in the best circumstances, this has made it all the more challenging. But I wouldn’t change it for the world. I try sometimes to put myself in his shoes. It’s hard for me to worry too much at all, at least obsessively. I do worry when it’s appropriate to do so, but I can also let it go. His doctor has tried to put us in his world, where you worry about everything, compulsively. He worries about growing up, because then people will die. He worries of you open the back door the dog will run out. he worries that if he goes to school something will happen at home, or that no one will come get him. It has to be exhausting.
