Family Friendly Kids Christmas Specials

In my house at this time of year especially with a preschooler, it becomes all about Santa and the upcoming delivery of presents due on Christmas Day. So today with all of the continued bad news, I figured we could take a break and share the top 5 Christmas specials in our house.

Mickey’s Christmas Carol

Mickeys Christmas Carol was a 1983 Disney short film that was a take on the classic Dickens tale featuring Mickey as Bob Cratchett and Scrooge McDuck as Ebenezer Scrooge.

Prep and Landing is a 2009 Animated CGI special from the same animation team that brought you Toy Story and The Incredibles. It was followed up in 2011 with Prep and Landing: Naughty vs. Nice.

A Charlie Brown Christmas

A Charlie Brown Christmas Premiered on CBS in 1965, and has become one of the most beloved Christmas Specials of all time. Beginning in 2001 the annual airing moved to ABC, where it has continued to air over the last 11 years.

Jingle All the Way

While not a huge theater blockbuster, this movie is a favorite in out house, and in fact a sign of the times.  Where else can you see some of the true Christmas Commercial Culture in action. The hit, it Toy! Besides, who can resist Arnold yelling, “It’s Turbo Time!”
