Blogging today is much harder today than it was when I first started blogging a few years ago. From the tastes of the audience to even how Googletreats your blog times have truly changed. Let say for example you blog is full of information and tips, and even personal stories and inspiration, well Google likes you.
Spend too much time on sales links and the buy here, get this and basically become sale oriented, well Google will penalize you. Thanks to the Google “May Day”, they got a lot tougher, and many blogger see that today. I am the first to admit I used to be a rank chaser. That is probably why my blog dropped off to nowhere. Once you become someone devoted to only the rank, or the dollar, you fall into a trap where you become passionate about nothing, and become someone that well honestly no one wants to read.
Case in point, I recently visited a blog that I often frequent (but haven’t lately because I had stepped away from blogging for a while). When I got there they were telling me how wonderful this bed store was and how they loved this mattress. They were even so kind as to provide me with links. Generally this was someones personal blog filled with great stories, and great life anticdotes. So what was the deal?
The next day it was clocks, and later in the same day eye wear.
Don’t get me wrong, I am a big believer in Payperpost, and sponsored posts, and blog advertising. If that is you primary goal, then great. If not then you need to temper the amount of gross advertising.
Will you ever see sponsored posts here? Yes!
Will you ever see blog advertising? Yes!
Will is be every day? No!
Sometimes thinking about your audience does work. Are you a blog whore, or a blogger?
